flex [debug] [phony] [residuals] [rms=] [a1=] [a2=] .. [a2=]
flex does a least square fit to the observed pointing errors assuming a functional form for the pointing errors. Different functional forms can be experimented with by creating a small module with a few function calls. See the file flexstd.c for an example. Typical errors are:
- Ha dial error
- Ha scale
- North polar
- East polar
- Declination dial
- RA collimation
- RA/Dec non perpendicularity
- Dec scale
The input data in stdin must contain at least 4 white space delimited fields.
- hour angle
- declination
- observed - predicted hour angle
- observed - predicted declination
All quantities are in decimal degrees. Lines beginning with `#' are treated as comments and are skipped.
flex calculates the rms values of the ha and dec pointing, then fits the functional forms, and prints out the results to stdout.
