Notes of Caution
The Cryotiger manual should be consulted for details. A few salient points need to be stressed:
- Keep the connections to the cryogen lines clean. There are caps available in the RCT supplies that screw into the ends of the hoses, dewar, and compressor when the system is disconnected. Wipe away contaminants from the valves before reconnecting the hoses. Small particles can easily contaminate the system.
- Don't overbend the flexible hoses or put stress on the input/output valves to either the dewar or compressor. The hoses should be supported near either end and approach the values without bending.
- Don't tip the compressor more than 30 degrees from horizontal. If it tips or has been transported, return it to horizontal for four hours before operation to allow the oil inside to return to its place.
- The PT-13 gas is flammable.
- Don't disconnect the system when it is cold.
