NAME

genphony - generates completely artificial pointing data file

SYNOPSIS

genphony [nodut] [iso=] [format=] [wallace=] [nodut] [cycle=] [debug] [rms=] [site=] [mets=]

DESCRIPTION

genphony generates a totally artificial TPoint pointing data from the coordinate list sent in as stdin. The TPoint file is sent to standard output and may be redirected as you wish.

The star format is Wallace's Format 1:

star geocentric apparent RA/Dec (h,m,s,°, ',")
telescope raw RA/Dec (h,m,s,°, ',")
local sidereal time (h,m)

genphony first makes a call to the telescope server about the name of the observatory, date, temperature, pressure, elevation and humidity and prints this data out. The for each star in the starlist, calculates the geocentric location and telescope raw position.

OPTIONS
nodut - disables the X,Y and DUT from the pole. This factor is needed to get perfect agreement with TPoint.

wallace= adds a TPoint model file.

iso= changes the date from the present.

rms= adds rms error to RA and Dec (arc-seconds).

cycle= set the observation cycle time in seconds (def:0).

site= sets site via string rather than server.

mets= sets weather via string rather than server.
