focus - focus the telescope
SYNOPSIS
focus
DESCRIPTION
focus script puts the telescope at the best focus
using the quick temperature mode.
It does the following:
- reads telescope temperature using
telescope temp ??? sensor
- calculates theoretical focus position from temperature
and measured expansion coefficients (linear fit)
- positions secondary
Currently, it ignores the dependence of focus with
filter.
In particular
the filter offsets
in the filter database are
not used.
The coefficients for this script will be derived by analysis
of the data contained in the
Focus table in the database.
NOTE
The ??A sensor was chosen to represent the temperature as
it seems to have the greatest time lag from the outside air
temperature and so is probably more representative of the
telescope frame temperature.
