Dome Azimuth

Table 3.6: Dome Azimuth Specifications
Drawing: RCT001/Az
Motor: two Baldor EM3554T three phase motors
Motor Encoder: none
Overall Encoder: BEI H25D-SS-2000-ABZC-4469-LED-E-CS36S tooth driven ENC6
Limits: none (it's a dome)
Controller: PMAC#6
Drive Amplifier: Reliance 2GU21005 (obsolete) this is a member of the GP-2000 series
Homing: switch activation when north it is about 10 degrees west of north
Manual Control: EOS says dome diameter is 5.2 meters. Encoder cts/deg = 1133.3

The toothed wheel has 28 teeth. Using the EOS scale I find that the dome has 1428 teeth.

Note: the power to the dome must be turned on before moving the dome. There seems to be about a three second delay in turning on the dome power and about an 8 second coast.

The dome power is shared with the dome slit.
